Letting my Mom go....a month to remember

Bear watching over my mom - my drawing while at her bedside in the ICU

In October, 4 years ago, my mom very suddenly got sick and nearly died on the operating table…She was hospitalized for abdominal pain on Oct 6 or 7 - I don’t remember when exactly. She was diagnosed with intestinal blockage, possibly due to scar tissue from 2 other abdominal surgeries done years earlier. After a week attempting to unblock her transit by non-invasive medical means, surgery became imperative, despite the risk due to her ongoing anti-clotting medication that was required to manage her aortic heart valve replacement (indeed my mom was a walking modern-day medical miracle!)

We said our goodbyes and our mutual love before she went into surgery - just in case...…

no, no, no, scratch that!  in fact, I don't remember what we said, and I don't remember when was the last time we spoke - probably right before she went into surgery...and I have no idea what we did actually say...

Bulfighting, boys & bravery - Day 1 of Equine International Summit

Good morning! i did a quick video to share some highlights of the amazing & insightful talk given by Rupert Isaacson & his Horse Boy Foundation team on the first day of the Equine International Summit. They are doing beautiful things to serve autistic children & their caregivers all over the world.

They are also improving the physique of the donated horses that they work with, using a simple approach that has a very surprising origin. Donated horses are often older, retired horses or horses that have mobility issues (horse people would say that they're "not sound"). Rupert discovered a simple yet very effective technique to revamp the physique of these horses, and he discovered that it also improves their mental well-being (In his words, the horse goes from "F**k no! i'm not working with you!" to "Well, maybe I'll work with you" to "I'm enjoying working with you!"). He learned this technique with Portuguese horse trainers who train...

International Equine Summit soon!

I'm about to head out to Jim-A-Dee Ranch for the start of the first day of the Equine International Summit where I'll be leading a creative workshop on Sunday. Super excited! made a quick video for you - it illustrates perfectly just how much of a beginner "vlogger" I am - forgot to put the phone camera in landscape and also didn't notice the buzz of the house air conditioner in the background!! oh well - I just wanted to share with you what a lovely day it is out here and how upbeat I am about discovering a new venue, seeing some old friends and discovering new people who are all passionate about horses and healing! :)

The photo is my cousin Christine Terry, the amazing, talented and VERY hard-working Volunteer Director of the Victory Therapy Center, greeting one of their oldest therapy horses who going to retire from the center this week, to head out to his homeland pastures of Oregon.

Learning to trust

So it all started with the departure from my house in France; on my way to the USA to speak at the Equine International Summit. There were roadworks on the usual route that I take to go to the train station. So taking a slightly different route and leaving, as I often do with just the right amount of time to get to the station, I missed the train by a hair. It was in the station as I was entering the parking lot, and I saw it leave...then I thought, no problem. I'll take the train to Paris instead of the train going directly to the airport and take public transport to the airport.  When I arrived at the train station in Paris, there was a technical problem on the public transportation train line, which was not working, and the airport bus had an unplanned strike by most of the drivers. As I started to discover the information about the transportation to the airport and began to worry about whether I would get there in time for my plane, I remember taking a mental pause and...

Spreading my wings....here I goooooo

I'm travelling to Texas today for the International Equine Summit, an unrivaled event to reconnect with yourself, your horses and build a supportive community, hosted by Shelley Rosenberg, founder of My Horses My Healers, Inc. The magic of the internet allows me to have this posted as I'm taking off.... here I gooooo! :)

The focus of the International Equine Summit is on horses, their well-being, and how they can be amazingly effective healers for people, far beyond what most can imagine.  I’ll be leading a creative workshop called:

"Cosmic Cowgirl Magic - Transforming Your "Stories"
transform your negative "story", by putting a new twist on it, using Intentional Creativity® to meet the "Horse of your Heart"

In this "play-shop", you'll put on your Cosmic Cowgirl hat and meet the Horse of your Heart, your very own personal horse of transformation, who will help you put a new twist on the old "stories" about you that people project...

Showing up - the ultimate challenge!

Welcome to my world! pull up a chair, serve yourself a cuppa, a drink, a snack - and tell me about YOU

Join me as I (finally!) jump into the Ultimate Blog Challenge - a challenge that requires posting EVERY DAY on my blog during the ENTIRE month of October.  I hope that you'll help me do this....

What is my blog about? My blog is a conversation, because I love to write, I love to share stories. I especially love to LISTEN to people like YOU, to discover your world – so let this be a conversation with you, my dear blog-reader - a highly subjective conversation where I can vent, talk, share, rant and rave, and just show up, as me, myself, and I, in all my flawed, insignificant, egocentric glory of the age of the internet, because there’s no one, nowhere, in the entire planet, like me! and there will never ever be anyone like me, ever again….and you know what? there will never ever be anyone like YOU ever again either! So I’d love to know more about...

When I was little, daydreaming ...

Uncategorized Feb 14, 2017

When I was little, daydreaming about a horse was the closest I could get to one - my only contact with horses up close and personal was in books.

We lived in American metropolitan suburbia, moving every 1 to 2 years to another military location, and my parents couldn’t afford riding lessons; in addition, my mother was terribly afraid of horses – so I also suspect that this was a convenient reason to avoid her the angst of watching me gallop around and jump obstacles or other equine activities, all of which appeared dangerous and life-threatening to her.

But books about horses were ok. It was in the long-ago & faraway age when the only source of media was a TV (not always in color), books, and the movie theater – no internet & the only way you could watch a movie or a show multiple times was by going to the theater to watch it over again. So I owned most of the book series that young girls had in those days that told stories about horses: Black Beauty, Man...

Stepping into the Light

Uncategorized Sep 01, 2016

It's time for me to Step into the Light & to fulfill my Life Purpose...
I'm here to reach out to others - to show them that they, too, can step into THEIR light and shine brightly with their own fulfilling life purpose.

All they have to do is go within...learn to listen to their inner selves. Western society has taught us to ignore that inner voice. It's time to learn to listen to it.
